Project Description
Scar Camouflage
Scar Camouflage
Blending scars into your skin tone — so no one notices but you.
After an injury or surgery, your body creates extra collagen during healing, which can leave raised, discolored scars. Scars leave both physical and emotional marks — and many clients simply want them to draw less attention.
At Baroque Beauty Center, all camouflage procedures are performed by Antonio Baroque, certified micropigmentation technician.
What Is Scar Camouflage?
Scar camouflage — also called camouflage repigmentation — is a procedure in which pigment is implanted in the discolored area to improve the color difference between the scar and the surrounding skin. Using the same technique as semi-permanent makeup, pigment is deposited into the top layer of the skin, and tones are gradually blended to match your skin tone — applied on the scarred area and in the area around it for a seamless result. This treatment requires multiple sessions; the number of sessions varies depending on the size and condition of the scar.
Is Scar Camouflage Right for Me?
Everyone’s skin is different. Our trained artists have years of experience in camouflage repigmentation, and a consultation will confirm whether your scar is a good candidate. You will get the best results if you avoid sun exposure after your procedure.
Your scar should be: at least 9–12 months old; fairly smooth and flat; free of dark edges.
This treatment is not suitable for: port wine birthmarks; spider veins; freckles or age spots; under-eye circles; hyperpigmentation; unstable vitiligo.
Honest Expectations
Scar camouflage is a process — it will not remove your scar. The scarred area will appear dark and red right after your session, and it will take weeks to heal to its final color. The result is a scar that blends far better with your surrounding skin — but patience is essential, and multiple sessions are the norm.
What to Expect
1. Consultation. We assess your scar’s age, texture, and tone, and set realistic expectations.
2. Color matching. We blend pigments to match your surrounding skin tone.
3. Treatment sessions. Precise application with single-use, sterile tools, spaced 6–8 weeks apart.
4. Healing. The area will look dark and red at first — this is normal. Final color settles over several weeks.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will my scar disappear completely? No — camouflage improves the color blending between the scar and your surrounding skin. It does not remove the scar.
How many sessions will I need? It depends on the size and condition of the scar. Multiple sessions are the norm.
Does it hurt? Topical numbing keeps the procedure comfortable — most clients describe it as very mild.
How long before I see the final color? The area heals to its final color over several weeks. Patience is part of the process.
Can any scar be treated? No — the scar must be at least 9–12 months old, fairly smooth and flat, and free of dark edges. A consultation confirms whether yours qualifies.
