Ombré Powder Brows Aftercare Guide
Thank you for choosing Baroque Beauty Center for your ombré powder brows procedure. Your brows will change as they heal — follow this guide and the personalized instructions given by your artist to protect your result.
Important — first 48 hours
Wash your hands before any contact with the brow area.
Gently blot visible lymphatic fluid with a clean, disposable tissue. Do not rub.
Follow the cleansing and ointment directions your artist gave you. Use only recommended products.
Keep the brows free of makeup, skincare, sweat, steam, and water saturation.
Do not touch, scratch, pick, peel, or sleep with pressure on the brows.
A few normal changes
Color may look darker for the first several days.
Mild tenderness, redness, or tightness can occur after treatment.
Flaking and patchiness are part of the surface-healing process.
The final healed result cannot be judged during the first two weeks.
Your artist’s instructions take priority if they differ from this general guide.
The healing stages
Stage 1 — Dark / bold phase (days 1–3)
Fresh pigment often appears darker, warmer, and more defined than the healed result.
Stage 2 — Scabbing / flaking (often days 4–7)
Fine flaking or small scabs may form. Picking can pull out pigment and increase the risk of scarring.
Stage 3 — Ghosting phase (often days 8–14)
Color may look too light, uneven, or almost absent beneath newly formed skin. This can be temporary.
Stage 4 — True color (develops over several weeks)
Pigment gradually settles into a softer tone. Final retention is assessed at the perfecting session.
Healing timeline — days 1–14
Healing varies by skin type and lifestyle. Use this timeline as a general guide, not a promise of exactly how each day will look.
Day 1 — Fresh and defined: Color appears bold; mild redness or tenderness may be present. Keep clean and follow the first-day instructions.
Day 2 — Darker: Brows can look deeper and slightly thicker as the pigment settles. Avoid touching, makeup, and excess moisture.
Day 3 — Tight or dry: The skin may feel tight; color can remain intense. Use only the aftercare product advised by your artist.
Day 4 — Early flaking: Small flakes may begin at the edges. Let flakes release naturally — never pick.
Day 5 — Visible peeling: Brows may look patchy while the surface sheds. Keep hands off and avoid friction.
Day 6 — Uneven appearance: Some areas may look lighter than others. Stay patient; do not fill with makeup.
Day 7 — Flaking eases: Most surface shedding is underway or beginning to slow. Continue gentle care and avoid soaking.
Day 8 — Softening: Color may suddenly look very light. This “ghosting” effect can be normal.
Day 9 — Faint or patchy: Pigment can seem hidden beneath fresh skin. Do not judge the result yet.
Day 10 — Surface settling: Dryness and flaking usually continue to improve. Resume routine only as your artist advised.
Day 11 — More natural: Shape and color begin to look softer. Continue sun and skincare precautions.
Day 12 — Color returning: Pigment may become more visible as skin settles. Avoid exfoliating products on the brows.
Day 13 — Calmer: The brow area usually feels more comfortable. Protect from direct sun and irritation.
Day 14 — Initial healing: The surface may appear healed, while deeper healing continues. Wait for the 6–8 week assessment before judging retention.
Healing essentials
Do
Keep hands and pillowcases clean.
Blot gently if lymphatic fluid appears.
Use only the cleanser or ointment your artist recommends.
Keep showers brief and avoid direct spray on the brows.
Wear a clean hat or stay in shade when outdoors.
Don’t
Pick, peel, scratch, or rub flakes.
Apply makeup, retinoids, acids, scrubs, or exfoliants on the area.
Swim, use saunas or steam rooms, or soak the brows while healing.
Do heavy workouts that create excessive sweat during initial healing.
Book facials, peels, lasers, waxing, or threading on the brow area until cleared.
Sleep face-down or press the treated area into the pillow during initial healing.
Protect your healed result
Sun protection: After the brows are fully healed, use broad-spectrum sunscreen around and over the brow area as advised. UV exposure can accelerate fading.
Skin & laser treatments: Keep strong exfoliants, retinoids, acids, peels, and laser treatments off the tattooed area. Tell every provider you have cosmetic brow tattooing before treatment.
Your perfecting session · 6–8 weeks
A perfecting appointment allows your artist to evaluate healed color, retention, symmetry, and any areas that need refinement. Book it for 6–8 weeks after your initial appointment unless your artist recommends otherwise.
Do not judge the final result — or add makeup to compensate — while the skin is still flaking or in the ghosting phase.
When to contact us
Contact your artist promptly if:
You are unsure whether what you are seeing is part of normal healing.
Redness, swelling, pain, warmth, or drainage is worsening rather than improving.
You notice a spreading rash or another unexpected reaction.
You have questions about products, activities, or your touch-up timing.
Seek urgent medical care for severe swelling, difficulty breathing, fever, rapidly spreading redness, or other signs of a serious allergic reaction or infection.
